Discuss Callen's answer to: Why is prevacid pulled off of the shelves?

Why is there a shortage? Nothing reported anywhere in the news about a shortage. I am trying to find some in my area and online and it's been nearly impossible - even drugstores don't seem to have it, let alone the department and grocery stores that normally have it.

My husband's pharmacy tech said they were told to pull all of it from the shelves. Something is up and they are keeping it from the public...what else is new?!

I went to two Walgreen's and Kroger. No one had it. No one at Walgreen's knew anything. The Kroger pharmacist said they were told to pull it from the shelves, but wasn't sure why.

Amazon has it and says it's in stock if any of you want to try it there!

They had a coupon out last month that stated buy one and get one free from the mfg. The coupon left me under the assumption that the mfg would send a free box of prevacid. I only bought one and when I got home I looked at the coupon closer and it stated that I had to buy two at one time then send the receipt in for a refund. The whole thing was very misleading. Needless to say, I was very agitated. I guess they were hoping the customers would clean off the shelves for them by making this offer.
