What do you think President Bush's legacy will be? Post your thoughts.
I don't know what it WILL be, but I know what it SHOULD be. He is a man of integrity and he always did what he thought was best for our country. Of course, there may have been a FEW wrong decisions, but can't we all look back AFTER the fact and see things we should have done differently. Every decision that he made was made with much thought and prayer. Thank you, George W. Bush for your leadership and your integrity. There are many people who feel this way, but unfortunately the main stream media will not report this.
His lack of concern for the working poor, the middle class, the way the world views us, his lack of interest in excellence, his choice of a vice-president, his destruction of the Republican Party's core values, and the response to Katrina. He was a divider not a uniter because he lacked the skills for unity. The Bush family sense of entitlement to public office and not service, and having NOT left the country and the world a better place. History will look at his presidency as eight years of incompetence and NOT what future presidents want to do or respect.
I think Laura Bush and Condaleeza Rice are much to close to George Bush to offer an unbiased opinion of his administration. I hope that history does reinforce what must be recognized as the most incompetent and disasterous administration in our nation's history. George Bush was a failure because he never was able to admit failure. He truly believed he was never wrong. It will take decades to reverse this man's failures. His advisors including his vice-president were as incompetent as him. Not to admit that there is much wrong with this administration is simply an illusion. True, there are things that have gone wrong that precede his administration but he did little to stop them or change them. I am so saddened by this man. I have voted Republican many times and I have voted Democrat many times. I consider myself an independent. The reality of the situation is that we are in a terrible position as a nation and as a world. Much of the blame for the making of this situation can be placed at the feet of Mr. Bush. Zealotry by those who think he did a good job is simply not admitting these failures. I hope Mr. Obama can do better..............time will tell.
I agree with Laura Bush and Condaleeza Rice in that histroy will show President Bush as a person who put the safety of this country as a top priority. His strength of character in "staying the course" will be one that will be recorded in writings such as Kennedy's Profiles in Courage. He will also be remembered for his compassion and "down to earth" style as he dealt with families who lost loved ones in 9-11; toppeled Hussain;walked with victims of Hurrican Katrina; promoted improved education for all children; and many other achievements.

God Bless President Bush and his wife Laura , I am a fan of yours Mr. President in an enviroment where it does not seem to be the right place to be a fan of the president. I really don't care though. With all that has been thrown at you during your eight year as president I think History will show that you have did an outstanding job as president. I am very aware that there are many problems here at home and abroad. There was many when you took office and will be when the next president leaves office. I thank you for your service to this country and for dedication to all of the men and women in uniform during your two terms as our president . I salute you Mr. President being a former Marine myself. I wish you the happiest of new years and a blessed rest of your life. Thank you also Mrs. Secetary Rice for your service to this country as well. I really think that this nation has been blessed by your service . thank you
If you could look into this President's heart with compassion, you would see the REAL President Bush. A decent human being, a Real American, and a person who talks with his heart. Is not ashamed to shed a tear when one of His Troops dies. Time will eventually bestow the credit He deserves.
