On my 1st day of lmp, my home preg test was neg, and also 3 days later. On 1 week late, I had 2 positive home preg tests. On 2 weeks late, I started spotting which prompted my to get into my dr's office sooner. A urine preg test there came up neg, and the blood test came back a 7. The dr is assuming I either had a "chemical pregnancy" or a miscarriage. How can I tell?

It's the same essentially. It means you did conceive but the fertilized egg did not set in the uterus (chemical pregnancy), or if it set it was soon after discarded (miscarriage). You were pregnant, but only for about a week.

I'm sorry you had to go through this. I hope you have better luck the next time.
