Does progesterone contain hcG?

Progesterone is one of the normal circulating female hormones - produced by the ovaries

HCG stands for human chorionic gondadotrophin - a protein based hormone produced by the growing placenta in an ongoing pregnancy

No. However, during pregnancy, HCG, secreated from the placenta (developes during pregnancy) is responsible for secretion of Progesterone by the ovary (specifically the corpus luteum). Thus, as HCG level increses - progesterone level increases as well...
