can i become pregnant if i had unprotected sex on the last day of my birth control pill?

Vanidosa,

When you are on birth control, it is important to take every pill around the same time each day, and do not miss any pills.   When you start a different type of pill each time (or the very first time), you need to use another means of birth control for the first month.

Provided you followed these instructions, it is unlikely for you to become pregnant during the week of the placebo pills.  There are a few people that become pregnant while on birth control...about 3% of women.  It is not common....about the same percentage as on condoms alone.

Another thing you should consider, is STD's.  Birth control pills do not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases.  It is best to use condoms and birth control pills.  This is your best way to protect yourself from pregnancy and STD's.  Be advised that condoms do not protect you from HPV, or Herpes because the lesions can be located on areas that condoms do not cover.

Birth control and other methods of safe sex are never 100% affective. I know quit a few people who got pregnant on birth control. If you do not wish to become pregnant then be a little safer.
