The power of faith......

They say faith can move mountains.

If so, How many have been moved thus far.

As a trial - using our collective powers of faith, our congregation tried to move a small mound of sand we piled up in the kindergarten sand pit but couldn't shift it.

A few grains tumbled down from the peak of it, but we think that was due to an Elder (Seppy Vinquist) sneezing during the process.

God is incapable of doing anything at all.

Any congregation that would do that is too shallow minded to be a congregation, therefore I do not believe your congregation did such a thing.  The question is not a legitimate question.  It must be a joke placed here by some numb skull who has no idea of how to read the Bible.  Literally reading and then trying such a thing shows more ignorance than any congregation I've ever heard of or seen or been a part of.  LOL....silly silly silly

I've seen amazing and unbelievable things in my life. I've done a few myself. But never in America or any other western country. Faith CAN move mountains, in a way of thinking. But our society has been raised for many many decades to be doubters, to disbelieve anything without proof. The result is that, while your faith may be wonderful and deep, in your heart you really don't believe you can do it. Unless you believe, totally, without any doubt, faith won't even move a grain of sand, let alone a mountain.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

Does your congregation understand the difference between a literal mountain and a figurative mountain?

The Bible is full of metaphors. Faith moving a mountain is one of them.

Dear Anonymous;

You mistaked a metaphore for a concreat idea.

I was supposed to die when I was 5, from polio. That was 63 years ago. The doctors called me the mericle patient, and for good reason.

My parents faith, and acting on it, by visiting me and keeping my spirits up, created the "mericle". All the more so, when several children arond me died.

If your congregation did try that experiment,  and still do not understand the difference between metaphore and actuality, I feel sorry for them.

Shalom;

Yechiel
