I am in possession of 11 shares of Bell Atlantic ...

I am in possession of 11 shares of Bell Atlantic Corp stock. The stocks were issued to my now deceased husband, in the year 1991. I know that there has been at least one split but have lost track now that they are Verizon. My question is how do I cash these stocks in? How can I know if the company has split more than once. My name is not on this certificate, but I was his wife at the time of his death. I am assuming that they are mine to cash. I sure could use a little help on this matter. Thank you. It would appear that you had 88 shares of B-A heading into the merger with GTE that formed Verizon in 2000.  I did not find the impact of that merger on stock but, you can contact Verizon investor relations on line or by phone and get an update and probably determine the total value.

Verizon stock is at about $ 36.00 right now
