Should Pope John Paul II be a saint?

One as recognized as preeminent for holiness, is how Webster defines a saint. Preeminent means having highest rank.  In answer to your question, an emphatic NO.  God Himself has the high ranking in Heaven, and if I am correct that is the exact reason Satan then called Lucifer was expelled from Heaven because he wanted to be "high ranking."  The Pope is a man, just the same as any other man.  He elected himself to be a priest, and later became a Pope by the Catholic churches law.  None of that is Biblical.  No one on this earth will ever rank above the Lord Almighty, no matter what they may have accomplished while on earth.  Take care, God bless.

To mamasgirl,  Pope John Paul II had a high ranking of the people that God created.  That does not make him as high as God.  No where does it say he was highest ranking above God.  You are putting your own definition on things, and your definition on this happens to be incorrect.  Think about it.

When he was in the New York City area years back the 2 times, my Gin {that was my Son who was killed, fiancee} and her younger sister had gotten tickets from the Church, a lottery, and they got to be up front, she was in the Clouds..was Blessed by him.. and brought home Rosary beads that he had Blessed. That was not the first time, she had gone to Vatican City a few years before..

As a person who was molested by one of his followers, I believe he is burning in hell and is anything but a saint. He got off on hearing the stories of people like me being abused. He is, and will always be a pervert. BURN, BURN, BURN!

I got nothing aganst making him a saint.  Sounds like the Catholics got the right to saint anyone they want to.  Mark H if you got a beef with a catholic fine, settle that beef with that one catholic.  Ain't my business anyway.  Thing is all I see out of you is hate.

Just for the record: The Catholic Church does not MAKE a saint. It just says that that person is now in heaven and can intercede for us if we pray for their help.
