Polygamy is allowed by Islam, with certain limitations. First of all, only Muslim men are allowed to marry more than one wife. Muslim women cannot marry more than one husband. Furthermore, Muslim men are limited to marrying no more than four wives.

Polygamy in Islam is a hard to practice. It is allowed only if a man has obtained permission from his first or existing wives. Also there shall be a needy explainantion and also if the man is wealthy enough to sponsor and treat all the wives equally, including time share etcetera. But those days are over and not many could keep compliance with the rules anyway.

Certainly seems that 4 wives should be enough for most any men, even if not enough for Tiger Woods.

With such polygamy in AMERICA, we would sure cut down on all the mistress and prostitue problems seen so often (Clinton, Woods, Sen Edwards, Gov of NY, Gov of SC to name 5 well known "cheaters").

That would also eliminate so many divorces if the women would accept letting their husbands have a "reasonable" number of wives like the muslims do.

I really can't argue with you RON, good logic there. What if all 4 were PMSing at one time ... you'd need an escape to place, to get away from the main house.

Good listing of some famous cheaters: Cigar Man; Too Many Holes to Score; Mr Integrity, denied his child was his; then admits and did it while running for Pres and wife with terminal cancer (who could we trust more him or Obama); Mr Pay Through the Nose for Mistress (it's never worth what he paid); and The Hiking Not Cheating Missing Gov. Add Rev. Jimmy Swagart too (New Orleans hookers and he prayed on tv for God to forgive him). JFK with Marlyn Monroe and, allegedly many others with CIA coverup. And Gary Hart, a pres wanna be like Edwards. The HP CEO just got canned last Friday, getting it on side with a supplier lady. And on and on ...

Do you think polygamy would have saved all those big wheels their problems in life? Perhaps.

American women are puritanical on this ... they don't like polygamy ... or even just a little bit on the side -- see above cases.
