I heard today that there is an alternative organization to AARP.  I would like to cancel my membership in AARP because of their liberal thinking and support for the Healthcare package.

Yes, there is. I have the name in my truck but I am not going to get it now. If you have not gotten the name, please repost here and I will get it for you tomorrow.

I doubt you would get a refund on membership cancellation, but failing to resubscribe will have the same effect. Except for the mountain of mail you will receive trying to get you to send more money to help the leadership support good causes such as the rationing of medical care for the elderly.

Chuck,

I've been receiving a lot of mails from AARP.  Now that they're supporting OBAMA with his Obamacare, I will not join this organization.

I'm not in favor of this Obamacare.

Be honest and be true to yourself.

The one I am thinking about is not AMAC. I currently cannot find the enrollment form which is hiding in my truck.

For shame! Bad form!

Dear Chuck22234: My wife had membership in the AARP for many years, and all she ever recieved from the AARP organization was return envelopes, asking for donations. From my perspective (husband) the AARP is more, or less an organization for the wealthy, not the middle class, nor poor American retirees. This is a perspective of my own experience with AARP. Not that we expected anything in return for our membership, only senior citizen retiree support in the political arena, of which i feel we weren't even receiving that from our monetary donations. Since the AARP usually went along with political decisions detrimental to retiree policies. so i figure all we were buying with our AARP membership donations, was a good feeling big'brother AARP was looking after our welfare, not adding to it. Sorry to say, but that is the honest truth according this AARP past supporting member. i feel, when an organization such as AARP doesen't live up to it's promises to paying members, that organization deserves less than praise, hence this message!...
