Looking for a pole with magnet on one end, used for changing marque message outside of small grocery.  Pole is easier than having to get up on a ladder.

How to make an electro magnet?

Get a metal object such as a longish nail. Wrap a wire round and round and round, so it's coiled around it from one end to the other. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Put a current through the wire. I'm pretty sure that's how you make an electro magnet.
