It is essentially false logic to judge sentient beings by whether they do the same things humans do. And humans have wondered about their place in the universe long before Jesus or even Moses was born, or Judaism.

My own people, Indians, built cities and temples which were precisely astronomically correct.

Whales, living under the sea most of the time, have no use for telescopes. But they play, they love, they sing, they mourn, they show caring and compassion. Dolphins have saved countless lives over the years and are well known for helping people. Elephants mate for life. They also form life long friendships. There's a case of two elephants, both of who had been in a circus. They were separated, and eventually, one of them was sent to an elephant refuge. 30 years later, the other elephant was also sent to the refuge. They recognized each other immediately and were inseperable friends from the moment they were reunited. Now I don't know about you but, to me, that demonstrates high intelligence. Maybe higher than humans, because elephant friends don't stab each other in the back. Whales and dolphins don't murder each other. Which should raise some serious questions about just who IS the more intelligent being.
