How do you give a pill to a cat with an explosive ...

How do you give a pill to a cat with an explosive temper? I have tried all of the traditional methods, and none of them work. He is a Maine Coon with an very bad temper, and he has torn so much hide off of me, that I just do not feel like I want any more taken off by this cat. He is very smart, and savvy, and knows when I approach him, with a certain tone of voice, that he immediately adopts that nasty temper "growl" that only he can do, and I am doomed, so, anyone with some other suggestions other than the original ones already given, please I am open for any suggestion that will work!

Have you tried

pill pockets? I have trouble giving my two cats pills as well so these have been a great help to me. They come in two flavors that I know of, chicken and salmon, and as far as my cats are concerned, they think they are just getting treats!! Good luck!!

I wrap my cat tightly with a towel making sure to get all four paws inside. Then I hold the cat firmly under my arm with the back legs under my armpit. I hold the two front legs in my left hand tightly enough so they can't pull away. Put the pill in your two fingers and spread their mouth open and put it in as far back as possible on their tongue holding their head back till it goes down. Then let them go!

Grind it up (the pill that is, not the cat) and mix it with a bit of tuna or something. Make sure that there is enough tuna or whatever to mask the taste of the pill and chances are that the cat will not notice.
