How does lack of blood affect oxidative metabolism?

The key to this is the term oxidative. Oxidative metabolism is a process that requires oxygen. In the absence of oxygen, the body shifts into an anaerobic mode, which results in a build up of lactic acid.

With no blood, you have no oxygen, ergo, oxidative metabolism slows and/or ceases.

Blood carries oxygen to tissues. reduction of blood flow will adversely affect any oxydative metabolism and may cause tissue necrosis
