I have a Chihuahua at home that I use a halter with. What I was wondering is, would the velcro type halter work with her. She only weighs 5 pounds but I'm not sure the halter would hold if it had velcro instead of buckles.

My dog weighs 110 lbs.  I'm thinking anything would hold a 5 lb dog, including safety pins. Tongue out

yes and it would be more adjustable so you can ger a exact fit

Hello Alta,

I think that its a personal preference. As long as the velcro dosent come off there shouldnt be any problem. My personal opinion is to use something with a buckle or that is secure. You dont want to loose her right!?Wink

Better to be safe than sorry.

I agree with Alta. Velcro can get caught on something and open.

As Alta said better safe than sorry.

Another alternative is to train the dog--- the classes are fun and I bet your little dog is smarter than you might think & would love it. My shepherds were well trained enough that they would respond to a sit or down command when chasing a rabbit thus terminating the chase instantly!
