how can i get fleas out of my carpet with out using anything toxic because i have a 4 year old and a 2 month old in the house and i don't want to use anything that would harm them

No don't do that. Never chemicals around babies I guess james doesn't have children. Rent a shampooer and put pine sol in it. The old fashioned pine sol. You know in the bottles the hospital uses. Shampoo your carpets. Sorry I know the shampooer cost a lot but it will be worth it. It you can't find hospital pine sol in the brown bottle use the regular. It will cost about 30 or 40 bucks to rent a shampooer but it will be worth it for your children and your pets. Then wash your pets in pine sol. I'd loan you my shampooer for free if you are near Charlotte NC
