5 dogs, one canary and a few fish. This count includes pets I had as a kid, which formally belonged to my parents, but that nevertheless I regarded as "mine". Since I moved out of my parents house to my own apartment, I had one dog.

Wow, difficult questions...

When I was a kid my parents had a dog and there was a number of cats in the yard. I remember two dogs, but there was another one I was too young to remember, and the cats were literally innumerable. There were always some kind of rodents too, like mice or hamsters.

After moving out I had two dogs with my roommates (both sadly killed in car accidents).

Once I had my own place I got a cat (11 years with me and still going strong), and another cat adopted me shortly after. She ran away after two years (she had one tooth and was very skittish, so once when company came over she got too scared, managed to get out and never came back). Later I found two very young kittens who were supposed to stay with me only for a few days till somebody else took them, but one stayed. Then I met my husband and he brought his cat to the equation, and together we took in another one. Our dog found us in a coffee shop, so we took her in as well.

So right now 4 cats and a dog. We occasionally take in a stray, but only as foster parents, because our gang really drew the line ...

Good question!

Lets see, numerous goldfish, 2 gerbils, 2 guinea pigs, 3 rabbits, 6 cats, 2 dogs, 2 birds, salamanders, a crayfish, snails. Of course, this is over 30 yrs worth of pets! (Not all at once.) Most died of old age. This doesn't count the horses I "adopted" at summer camp and the strays that I found and found lovely homes for. Right now I just have 2 middle-aged dogs. (But we are the babysitters of choice for friends' pets. So we often have other dogs in the house.)

So i would have to say between 10 and 20. But I am a huge animal lover. I would love to have a farm someday. :)

Also, I would like to say that initially they didnt allow dogs in my apt building, but we fought them and now they are here to stay. If they didnt, we would have moved. I hate when people give up pets due to inconvenience!

Fool me once, shame on you!! Fool me twice, shame on me!

I have owned 2 dogs during my life. Both were golden retrievers. One was around for 12 years and the other for 2 years. Now that I think of it I really miss having a dog. maybe I should do something about it...

i have own a least over 30 right now i have 14 pet rats

Great question but difficult for me to answer since I've grown up around so many pets lol.

At the moment I am living with 3 non purebred Dogs, 2 non purebred Cats, 1 blue coloured Budgie and a 1 Pink eyed white Rat.

Too many to count really

In recent years but not entirely all at once:

Two black labs

A border terrier

A cat

Countless gold fish

Three hamsters

Two guinea pigs

A rabbit

I'm sure there have been more

I previously worked as a nurse but am now based from home - having just completed a long spell of breast cancer treatment . Life has also been busy lately after the arrival of our new puppy called poppy. She's a black labarador retriever and drives us all crazy at times but we just adore the buzz she brings to the house. Last week she caused me a shoulder injury by tugging when out walking - but I can forgive that for the fun she brings.
