how much tramadol is safe for my dog who is 10 lbs  my vet said to give him about 15 mg which is a quarter of a pill and i gave him a whole one which is 50 mg

Little late to worry about it now. But 50 really is way too much for a 10 lb doggie. Hell, I take 50s. 15 is even pretty strong. Remember, though it doesn't have a 'high' to it, tramadol IS an opiate, with all the problems that implies. Including suppressing breathing and other unpleasant effects. Your dog likely won't die. But please. do not do that again. If the vet said 15, he MEANS 15.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.
