Dogs and cats are nice. 

Looks like my Winnie dog..she is just as mean.

Stray cats R great friends.
They know how hard life is.
So do mistreated humans.
Pet from Humane Society makes great sense.

No thanks on alligator.
Wild animals should stay wild.
Dogs & cats R great companions.
Just take good care and give them love.

There are some animals I will never adopt.  These include:

Floons: "Non-existent birds that do not live in Texas.  Sometimes seen under tavern tables, the Floon is the one animal that makes its home in the State of Confusion."

Snallygaster: "A reptilian Floon."

Geehaws: "An animal that is sometimes seen in the company of liars, cheats, deadbeats, fools, dirtbags, and politicians."

Lawyers: "A new variety of specially-inbred experimental animal that deserves all the nasty we can dump it into."

I run into these critters sometimes when I am walking near the Springs.  They just calmly cross the path.  However I have run into some big enough while kyaking that could have swollowed me and not even burped.

I never get to choose my pets but a gator would not be a prime choice in my books.

It's better'n frogs!

I prefer to have a dog than a crocodile. I already bought dog bark collars for my new pet name flubby.

It is best to avoid certain pets: rhinoceros, giraffe, elephant, crocodile, and blue whale, make very poor pets in a small apartment.  I also avoid the skunk, porcupine, and octopus, as they can be decidedly unpleasant if aroused.  Gorillas make poor pets as they have learned the world's nastiest wrestling hold: the lip stretch . . . and may practice it on you.

I much prefer the choice of pet this young lady has made: the noble hippopotamus.
