Some people On Here Claim To Be All Wise Knowing God, Yet They Don't Believe Jesus Christ Is God. Does Scripture Say He Is?

Jesus Christ is God

The scriptures bear abundant testimony that Jesus Christ is God. Some liberal preacher will say to me, "You take the Bible literally. It's just myths." I answer, "Yes, I believe the Bible 100%. It is the word of God. If you don't believe it, Jesus is of no effect to you, ye are yet in your sins."

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the FLESH , justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, BELIEVED ON in the world, RECEIVED UP into glory."

--1 Timothy 3:16

"But unto the SON he saith , 'Thy throne, O GOD , is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom'...And, 'Thou, LORD , in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands.'"

-- Hebrews 1:8, 10

"I and my Father are ONE ."

--Jesus Christ, John 10:30

"...CHRIST JESUS ...being in the FORM OF GOD , thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD : But made himself of no reputation , and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men : And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD . The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, AND DWELT AMONG US , (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

--John 1:1-4, 14

"Philip saith unto him, 'Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.' Jesus saith unto him, 'Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me Philip? HE THAT HATH SEEN ME HATH SEEN THE FATHER ; and how sayest thou then, 'Shew us the Father?''"

--Hebrews 1:1-3

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
1:15 WHO IS THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, the firstborn* of every creature:
1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

*firstborn: pre-eminence in rank more than to priority in time. This can be shown in passages where the term 'firstborn' is used of the pre-eminent son who was not the eldest, e.g. Psalm 89:27, where David is called 'firstborn' although he was actually the youngest son.

"For in [Jesus] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."

-- Colossians 2:9

"...they shall call his name EMMANUEL , which being interpreted is, GOD WITH US ."

--Matthew 1:23

"The voice of him [John the Baptist] that crieth in the wilderness,

PREPARE ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway FOR OUR GOD ."

-- Isaiah 40:3

And Jesus forgave sins; whom but God can forgive sin?  Jesus never asked God to forgive the sins, He (Jesus) simply forgave the sins Himself; none but God can do this.  That is why the Pharisees got mad at Jesus, they didn’t know the authority that Jesus had as God, so they accused Him of blasphemy.

I see you mention 'some liberal preacher'.  I don't consider myself a religious person, yet I lean more to the conservative side due to the rhetoric and childish rantings I see from the liberals. I don't want to be included in that group. Plus the fact that when translated, liberal means; 'given freely or abundantly', and conservative means; 'having the power or tendency to conserve'.

Now I don't mean to seem like a prude, but it seems to me that with the way things are these days, it would be a good idea to try and conserve a little more. The liberals in congress are ready to start giving handouts to everyone and we can NOT afford that right now. Those clowns are going to bankrupt us!

But here is the deal. There are many people like me that would like to see the separation of church and state upheld and just deal with the situation at hand, which is to try and get the liberals OUT of congress. I don't want to offend you, but I think you could reach more people if you would post more about what Obama is doing to hurt America, rather than preach fire and brimstone.

Just a thought. Smile

You In??

If Jesus the Nazerene is God then he must be his own Father .I suppose that would make me my own Grandpaw. Each has the free will too believe as he/she chooses.I certainly hope that he is not a God that would destroy the personal relationship I have with him as my Father.

Noah-

You are disparaging the concept of Trinity by misapplication of biological terms. Father is used in a non-biological relational sense when used for Yahweh and His incarnation in the person of Jesus. Begotten, not made expresses this concept.

Merry Christmas.

God Has Blessed You!  You Are One Of The Sons Of Light!  You Are a True Believer! It is good to hear someone speaking the words of God and Jesus and God the same! Without Jesus as God He could have never taken away our sins. He Is exactly what you quote in the scriptures . God come to earth to become all mankind and instantly take way the sin that man could never do with works or reason or any other way. It is His Gift . He gave us a way out through Himself and took us all with Him and Lifted us to Heaven .  Again I'll always remember the day I read your words and said to my God who is Jesus , this is one of yours. no one can take him from you! Salvation is yours ! Praise God / Jesus!!!

Let's look at the facts, then decide. Then the truth will set you free!

That is a good question .To answer it truefully one must first decide which Jesus you are referring too .Jesus the Jewish man from Nazerene, who gave sight to the blind,or the one that the impostor Paul said blinded him on the road to Damascus , later to have scales would fall from his eyes.Jesus the Nazerene who said he was the son of God and the son of man.Was and still is many things to many people ,I think that was his plan.He gave us only two commandments.I speak only for the Gentiles who are not under the Law of Moses.First  love your God with all your heart all your soul and all your mind. The second, love your neighbor. He used the Sammaritains to demonstrate this..Was Jesus the Nazerene God?Not to the Gentile. He was our brother our sister our mother and the light and path that will will someday take us to paradise where he is now..Not heaven ,Paradise there is a big difference. You have to be a Gentile to understand this. But if you want to call him God ,I'am sure he wouldn't mind...

"Jesus is Lordis easier said than proved by anyone (including the writers of the Scriptures)! The Lordship of Jesus is based on but beyond Scriptures in themselves (inspired as they may be) and beyond one's personal faith (even if the real thing).

Only by the exclusive revelation of the Holy Spirit at Christ's perfect and transfigurative death on the cross (the reader should check out the detailed works of evidence), can one know beyond any shadow of doubt that Jesus Christ is absolute Lord over death and life --with a brand new life to show  for it! (John 3: 1-21; 16: 5-15; 19: 30-37; Matt. 16: 13-28; 17: 1-13; 26: 63-64; 27: 50-561 Cor. 12:3

The conclusive proof will be in the answer to an  altruistic prayer! AMEN.
