That phrase must be why I see so many overweight women and teens walking around with massive chunks of flesh oozing out of way too tight clothes. They exude a confidence in their appearance due to the 'Plus size" delusions flittering in their heads and chins. Plus size is telling you "go ahead and wear normal people clothes" The world is your funhouse mirror. Now we get to look at fat maniquins in these plus size storefronts. It always keeps me away from mcdonalds when I see those disturbing obese figures clogging up too much space in the mall.

It depends on who you ask. For modeling agencies, plus size usually starts at a size 8. Plus size clothing stores usually start their plus sizes anywhere from 14-18, depending on the store. Some women and girls who barely squeeze into a size 18 get offended when you call them plus size, so be careful using this term. I am the National Director of a pageant for plus size teens called Plus Teen USA (www.plusteenusa.com). Advocating healthy lifestyles (I had to throw that in for all the naysayers), we accept girls who are a size 12 and above.
