Can you paint over anodized Aluminum or should it be done (painting) before anodizing?

Yes , you can paint over anodized metal. Any paint on metals that are to be anodized is stripped before anodizing

the aluminum has to be cleaned befored it can be anodized so therefore no it cannot be painted first

I have painted over anodized aluminum...powdercoat too. Aluminum has to be raw metal in order to anodize.
