What is the pain that feels like a bee sting in my leg? occurs randomly, lasts less than 1 minute but hurts like hell.
Are you perhaps diabetic? diabetics get pain like this. I don't know why.
Already checked that out. My doc did A1c test which was 5.3, 5.2 and 6.0 for the last 9 months. they also did an EMG test on my nerves and no diabetic neuropathy but a little compression in the lower back but doc doesn't feel it is related to "bee sting". It is not tingling but sharp, intense pain like a bee sting. I've had right upper quad pain for 15 months, CT, MRCP, xrays, etc. and now they are testing for sphincter of oddi. I get spasms in RUQ about 45 minutes after eating. My gallbladder was taken out 15 yrs. ago. So I'm dealing with the RUQ pain and now this crazy nerve pain in the leg...Annoying that medicine is part art/intuition and part science.
It obviously has something to do with your nerves, but past that I'm just not at all qualified to make any judgment. I thought possibly fibromyalgia, but you didn't mention any of its other symptoms. I'd be looking at that lower back compression a little more closely, though. It strikes me that, no matter what your doctor says, there's a good chance it's connected. Did they test for sciatica? That can be very painful.
