You may have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Do you do a lot of repetitive movements with that arm?
I agree with the answer from Lido. Read this web site and see if this matches the symptoms you are experiencing.
Question? What work do you do? This sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a painful disorder of the wrist, hand or fingers. The carpal tunnel is a narrow tunnel formed by the bones and other tissues of your wrist. This tunnel protects your median nerve. The median nerve gives you feeling in your thumb, and index, middle and ring fingers. But when other tissues in the carpal tunnel, such as ligaments and tendons, get swollen or inflamed, they press against the median nerve. That pressure can make part of your hand hurt or feel numb. Many dentist suffer from this ailment. It can be corrected with surgery. twitt me softly @cs33ca. M.Sc. PharmD. www.anestheticnews.com
Hello,
I am not a MD, but it sounds like you may have carpal tunnel syndrome. I would go to your primary care physician for treatment options. If this is what you have, you do not necessarily need surgery, there are many other treatments for this disorder. Again, I am not a MD.
God Bless,
