Discuss Moosemose's answer to: Outside antenna signal clarity

Do i need an antenna amplifier on each tv (one on main floor and one in basement, a new antenna, or what? (My antenna is at least 15 yrs old.) When i installed the digital converter box on the tv on ...

In reality, any "Antenna" should deliver a Signal to Ur box IF (BIG IF) Ur Coax, twin lead etc. is in good shape. Use an "Ohm Meter" to test for continuity by shorting one end of the wires together & connecting the Meter to the other end. If it shows "Short" then seperate the 2 wires & the "Short" should be gone. Ur cable should be good. Check that the wires to Antenna Terminals are good & then hook the other end to Ur "Converter Box". Ck. the cable between the TV & Converter Box in the same fashion. If good, tie the "Converter Box to the TV & turn both on. Have the "Converter Box" "Scan for Channels" per the "Instruction Book". This should give U channels & is about all U can do.   John
