A strand of wool burns with the odor of burning hair whilethat of cotton burns with the odor of paper ?

Wool IS hair - sheep's hair (or alpacas' or goats'). Cotton comes from a plant, as does most paper.

So what is the question?   Wool IS hair and cotton IS fiber so of course they emit

different odors during combustion.
