What Is Your Opinions On Pit Bull Dogs?

Are they born naturally mean and  aggressive towards people ?Does this have to  do with the breed  that they  are?  I  was talking to  someone who had a  red nose pit bull terrier  and the dog  was showing some aggression towards me  and the guy said, his  dog was only 6 months old ..Why would this type of dog do this?

Pit bulls were bred as hunting dogs, so they can be a bit aggressive. However, as with any dog, a lot depends on the owner's personality. I've seen quite a few pit bulls that were as sweet as any dog. Sadly, most people get them because they want mean, aggressive dogs, and so they raise them that way.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

Bones, I agree totally. To be on the safe side, I would not allow my grandchildren to be around one that is unfamiliar to me or their parents. Because of their breeding and nature, I do not trust them.

  my son raises white red nose pits, i own 2 pups from 2 different litters. one is 2 yrs old and ther other is 7 months, the parents of these pups both love people and kids, the 2 i have are the same,  they love everything,  i live with 2,  6 yr. old boys and these dogs love them. where ever they are the dogs are , they run lose when we are outside, the 2 dogs play and chase each other, they love to tear branches off the trees in the woods and have a game of tug of war with each other. these 2 are so nice , my little 6lb pom is the worst, he attacks the windows in the car when someone gets to close to the car. while the pits just sit and look at how stupied the little dog acts, but on the other hand the little one is the boss of the pack, and he rules them both.  he also potty trainned both pits at an early age, one was 12 weeks  the other at 10 weeks,  my dogs are treated like members of our family. they sleep ,eat, go away with us,  both love the water, so were always  at the water, and get along with all the people and dogs there. i think its the way you raise the dogs, if you want a mean dog  you can get it, but if you want a nice dog  then treat it good and it will be good, i just feel people make mean dogs.
