Maine's governor, Paul LePage, was criticized by the NAACP for not attending Martin Luther King Day events. LePage told the NAACP to "kiss my butt." What's your view about this controversy?
As an elected official, a much more courteous answer was called for. There is not, however, any mandate that goes with the job of state governor, to attend National Holiday celebrations. If the governor goes, or stays, it is a matter of personal choice.
