What's your opinion about the deal to prevent a federal government shutdown?  Do you think it's a good thing?  Or do you think that President Barack Obama, Majority Leader Harry Reid, or Speaker of the House John Boehner compromised too much?

Well, I'm not truely involved in politics and don't really delve into it BUT there's one thing I know, a shutdown will hurt a lot of people both in and out of the g'ment.. All I can say is once they reboot they'd best pay retro to these people but as I've heard this may not happen then it BEST apply to their narrow butts as well.. The hipocrites better not receive retro if their not willing to allow it for everyone, oh! and they'd better not vote themselves a raise for a job well done either.. (everybody keep your ears open for that last statement).

Who brought that idea in the first place? Who in his or her right senses will like to shut down government? You politician are doing all these for your own selfish aim/ reasons. How can few individuals just sit on a round table and make life difficult for it citizens/masses, why?

It's business as usual.  Now let's see what happens with the budget for 2012, the one they should have been working on.

Republicans folded on thier social agenda. They knew it would have been political suicide to shut down the government to cater to the social conservatives.

The Dems are demagoging this one to death.  It was like a family with $6,100 interest debt not willing to cut $60 out of their budget.  In addition, it was cuts to INCREASES in the budget, not cutting anything out of what we spent last year.
