OOPS - it appears that this AOL account has been cancelled. There is absolutely no good reason for this

My friend has one email account, it is with AOL.

He went to login using his username and password.

He kept on getting username or password does not match, so he then clicked on forgotten password.

The next message was "OOPS - it appears that this AOL account has been cancelled.

There is absolutely no good reason for this to have happened, AOL have for some inexplicable reason ceased access.

We have tried all the AOL suggestions baring a successful phone call (that is getting to actually speak with somebody, not a machine)

So AOL, how are we supposed to recover this account as your system just runs us around in rings.

Unfortunately my friend trusted in you and was not sufficiently prudent to have a backup email account on record with you, he like so many older computer incompetents (his own label for himself) was not fully understanding of why he should do this. He is now starting to suffer from the consequence of this action and so are others as this was their established means of communication.
