What is one thing society has learned from the colorado shootings

Businesses are too cheap to hire adequate security. 

Look at your usual inner city ghetto sometime.  You will see block walls with brown spatter from dried blood and bullet holes about waist high everywhere you go.  Chicago is the worst town for gang violence.  If you are not in a gang there you are dead meat.  Those gangs are for life and to leave means the gang will kill you next.

There is one exception: flying colors low.  One gang member can go into the turf of another gang and set bombs or booby traps to kill the rival gang.  Then he backs out and gets back to safe turf, and flies his colors again.

Then the next drive by shooting does double damage when the resident gang trips on the booby traps.  They are getting really sophisticated about it too.

About the only thing that keeps "neutrals" safe is if they can return fire.  Gangs are always armed and go hunting but if neutrals take out a gang member then there is no one they can hunt.

That means you have to take on two rival gangs, but if you can defend yourself they will respect you as a neutral.
