Discuss Lido's answer to: Can one be spiritual without being religious?

Alas, one may be anti-spiritual and in live only in defiance of all that is good, wholesome, decent, and proper. 

Religion is our effort to be decent and moral persons therefore to oppose it is to openly encourage all that is inhumane, indecent, violent, bitter, and sick.

• Sergio Melendez used heroin and peyote in his "Mexican Orthodox" cult centered in Los Angeles in the early 1960's.  He had his paid assistants hand out leaflets denouncing Christ, and offering "A wholesome alternative to the establishment that will free your minds and restore your dignity."  A child fatality at one of his "services" put Melendez in prison for life.  He was killed by other inmates almost on arrival at San Quentin.
• Timothy Leary claimed that LSD would "Provide an awakening into the spiritual side of the universe."  His end was both infamous and well justified.
• Anton Szandor Lavey was what he called, "deeply spiritual and devoted to Satan."  He is also a repeat felony offender, has raped his daughter repeatedly, married her to a pig, and forced her at gunpoint to consummate the "marriage."  She did so because she was terrified of her father's brutality.  That is not much different from any other perverse cult, sad to say.
• Madalyn Murray O'Hair was devoutly spiritual in the sense that she hoped that her cult would gain political power over God and then could abuse that power in the most hateful manner possible.  She failed repeatedly and died as the least loved person on the planet.  She rejected her son William Murray and claimed he was unforgivable -- because he learned how to forgive and became a brilliant Christian minister.
• Physicalist is deeply devout as an atheist because he hopes to "Complete the wonders of Saint Madalyn our atheist goddess . . .."  Of course, we see instantly that Physicalist's sick games only prove that his entire cult is equally twisted, sick, and bizarre.
• Cults of personality run by atheists, dictators, and evildoers, are religions in their view but they are always barbarians and their end is always the way of death.

So it goes through the litany of the mindless and obscene, that devious persons must always try to be hated but are involved in pseudo-religious cults like Satanism, atheism, etc.

Nothing could be more obvious.

rocmike every post under every alias has the word atheist in it. i bet before you discovered blogs you where one of those nut jobs standing on a city street corner holding up religious signs yelling the scripture. at least now as people walk by you dont get strange looks, only because you are inside, but everyone still thinks you have serious problems.
