There are two kinds of Plutonium. One is the stuff they make bombs out of and the other isn't much good for anything. Two of the eggheads I over heard at an N-plant where I was working said plutonium went for about $6.5 million a gram.
"Dead lead" as we called it isn't that dangerous. There was a terrorist cell operating near an N-plant where I was running a replacement steam line. Somehow the terrorist got into the secured area and took off with about 5 pounds of dead lead. It showed up on radiation detectors and they tracked him down just inside the inner fence.
The part that took me by surprise was that the fool took the dead lead out of the shielded container and stuffed the bag where the sun does not shine. It looks a lot like dish soap with shiny silver glitter in it.
There was no way to make that stuff into a weapon but it messed the guy up really bad. They had to give him shots in prison to get rid of the radiation poisoning. Everyone at N-plants gets those shots.
I have to wonder about some people.
O.K., thanks. That helps a lot. Also that sounds pretty funny, but then again it probably wasn't but I don't work in that kind of place and I don't know what happened exactly.
Thanks,

Why do you need stuff to make atomic bombs?
Even if you had the money, those other thieves wouldn't let you keep it.
Even if you got stuff enough to make a bomb, you wouln't know how to build it.
Even if you built it, you couldn't get it off the ground.
Even if tou got it off the ground, you'd be on a clear track from an intelligence satellite set to track loony tues that try something that dumb.
Even if you got half way to where you wanted it, an Air Force fighter would shred your plane and send you into the ocean.
Even if you got there, you wouldn't know how to drop it on target.
Even if you put it in a missile, it would blow up on the launch pad and you would be the first one dead from that rotten thing.
Even if you managed to build it, get it there, and it worked, it would kill you before it did anyone else. How are you going to aim a weapon with a dead hand?
It will get you life in Gitmo, if you live that long. If that doesn't talk you out of it, what will? There is plenty more I guarantee.
Here is what happened.
Mohammed al Farouk al Bengazi went to work where I once worked and found where the N-plant stored their plutonium. It comes as a product of burning uranium in the plant.
He took off with an ass load of that crud. I hope he likes prostate cancer because he is going to die from it pretty soon shots or not.
They make a lot of the stuff but make sure that no one can make a bomb out of it even if they get hold of huge wads of the stuff. I'm not sure what they do to it but the only ones that get the bomb material is the Department of Defense and they quit placing orders a long time ago.
Ever since then all the material they let out is dead lead. Yeah, DOE will sell you all of the plutonium you want at a sky high price but I guarantee it is all dead lead.
That is one way to drive terrorists broke, huh? Might as well put that money back in the treasury after Obama went on a lot of hog wild spending sprees. The joke is on them. They are buying junk at top dollar!
Snow, you raise some good questions. "What if?"
Maybe these idiots never heard of Murphy's Law. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Isn't it a hoot?
