Omar Osama bin Laden - a true "peacenik"?

I recently read an article on Fox News that Omar Osama bin Laden, son of notorious Osama bin Laden wants to be an "ambassador for peace" between Muslims and the West.

According to the article, Omar - one of bin Laden's 19 children - raised a tabloid storm last year when he married a 52-year-old British woman, Jane Felix-Browne, who took the name Zaina Alsabah. Now the couple say they want to be advocates, planning a 3,000-mile horse race across North Africa to draw attention to the cause of peace.

"It's about changing the ideas of the Western mind. A lot of people think Arabs - especially the bin Ladens, especially the sons of Osama - are all terrorists. This is not the truth," Omar told the AP last week at a cafe in a Cairo shopping mall.

If you had the opportunity, would you participate in this horse race for peace? Do you think it's possible to forgive/forget his father and actually work with his offspring to promote peace?

i can forgive, i like native ameircans to forgive my race for bashing their babys skulls with the bulks of their rifles.

and i also like to attend the race, i have to find a horse, get a plane ticket, and get my butt ready for a very long ride..

be cool woulnt, be a good test for omar, to have a little nobody like me, in that race. i love horses, and i love the thought of ending this war.

I have to admit that I question whether Omar is sincere or attention hungry and using his father's notoriety to gain visibility. I do think that if he wants to truly be a peace advocate then he needs to build credibility in a big way by accomplishing concrete steps forward that are building blocks for peace and completely separate from his father. I personally would not participate in his horse race primarily because I think that there are better ways to promote peace.

At least he is using horses and not guns. Why not participate ? So many good lives are being wasted on a chase. I ask myself for what? What are the Us troops chasing? I think the relation between the two ,might be just biological , if he is saying something other then fighting then why not? Even if he is using the media to gain more recognition who cares maybe some of his actions will save some lives!

I don't wish to be argumentative ,but I disagree with the Islamic belief that I should be killed! " If radical atheists decided they needed to kill believers to ensure their place in nothingness, I'd be criticizing that too."
