How do i obtain rights to a book i've written?

Well first you right the book then send it to the editors and then you can fix it Then send it back and well you get it anyway when you get it published and your name is on it then that means you obtain all rights to that book

Usually, first rights revert to the author after a year.  Your publishing contract may say differently.  Copyright usually lasts 56 years but the rules vary with the type of work. 

I always demand reversion of rights on all my published works to me after one year.  That way I can re-negotiate sales of reprints and seconds.

It is good to be back from sabbatical. Another fifteen years of work will put me into permanent sabbatical, but that is all part of the plan.
