Obsession with Celebrity Life

Do you think that there is something wrong with the obsession with celebrity life? I can't believe magazines are paying so much for baby pictures! After reading this article, I feel embarrassed to admit that I often read People Magazine and do the occasional internet browsing to follow up on hollywood drama!!

I try to filter my news and avoid celebrity, entertainment, murder and sports news, but apparently other people like these subjects.  As long as sponsors are willing to pay to air it for the people that like these subjects, it will always be with us.

I don't really see an evil to it, but I do think it's stupid.

Any obsession sounds like an unhealthy thing to me. I can understand why celebrity life makes people curious but I also think that the amount of exposure celebrities get is completely ridiculous. I also don't think that there's anything genuinely interesting in following the daily life of someone like Paris Hilton but that's just my opinion.

In short, I hope that sooner rather than later people will realize what a waist of time it is following these foolish celebrities.
