Individual human lives are more important than national or ethnic identity. For 2,000 years there was no "nation" of Israel. The Jews didn't forget for 2 millennia; how can you expect the Palestinians to forget in a mere 60 years that they were driven from their homes by Europeans. Jews, maybe, but "European" Jews.
