I am hardly surprised that such a hateful, deranged, and bitter young man could commit such a vigilante act, particularly considering his leftist-liberal surroundings. 

We who have seen the sheer violence of nations with socialist or communist governments can attest to their sheer barbarity.  It is not a coincidence that leftists are both violent and deceitful, alleging that peaceful persons are at-fault for all manner of evil -- in which we had no part whatsoever.

Apparently, Holmes had been deceived to think that he was fighting a battle for "a worthy cause" and that he would be regarded a hero in time. 

Let us not forget that he was a graduate medical student.  His profession exists to save lives, not stack up corpses of unarmed civilians murdered at random.  If leftists like this disturbed young man hold human life so cheap, then he should forfeit his among them for the same rationale.

A professional fighting man's task is to subdue armed aggressors who conduct military operations contrary to international law.  We fight with honor and within proper rules of engagement.  We will never deviate from those rules, lest we become the very evil we swore to oppose.

Who were the belligerent powers?  Who ordered the operation?  Was there any justification for the use of force and the taking of lives?  What were the combat objectives?  Did he achieve those objectives . . . etc.

Mr. Holmes is the sort of leftist we should prosecute to the limit of the law and place all others like him on notice that we Americans have zero-tolerance for this sort of lunatic: we will arm ourselves to defend against such actions in the future and we will not tolerate excuses.
