Nuclear power can never be safe. Nothing is really safe - food, driving a car, crossing a road while walking. Risks are everywhere, we have to live with risks. But: smart people would'nt accept any risk which can destroy everything. That's the reason why I say "no" to nuclear power.

Don't be cruel.

no its not safein the slightest it will never be safe the only way to efficiently use it is the atomic bomb and I think sure all promised not to do that again you cant even work in a nuclear plant without expecting to get some kind of cancer go green

RW is RIGHT. In Japa  Areas out of the 30 KM evacuation zone have been evacuated due to VERY high levels of Radio.  A 5 generation farm/cattle family had to evacuate, sell all their cattle ( inc. their cow that was the result of 25 YEARS of breeding).   The grandfather cried as she was loaded & driven away.  They rcvd NO compensation& had to move to an apartment, WITHOUT their dog.  Multiply this by hundreds.  A minor quake damaged DC monuments.  Imagine it was larger & a NP plant was there !  EVACUATE DC ??  NO NUKES< PERIOD>  It is not about deaths, but the long term destruction of land for which there is NO substitute.

HANSON, no comparison is possible.  A crsh or accident is OVER at some point, physically.  Radioactive materials stay that was for eon after eon.  There is no replacing real estate that is ruined by radioactivity.  Then there are the by products.  There is no forever safe place, period.  France sends hers to a 3rd world country.  THAT is unforgivable.  When it is decommissioned it is EXPENSIVE & NOWHERE for the contaminated material to go.  NO state wants it transported through their borders or left on their soil.  There are MUCH better alternatives even tho many say no.

Germans are many things, but NOT stupid.  If you did dog business with them you would understand.  I can't say more in print.

Nuclear power is dangerous like what happen to Japan after the tsunami effect but it could be safe if its carefully created and establish.

What Destroys Me, Strengthen Me!

Of Course...   Nucular is safe compared to the damage done by buying Oil from radical regimes that Hate YOU.
