I kind of think nuclear power is safe but who else can handle it apart from humans. I would answer yes or no as well because all this boils to proper handling.

. "BEWARE WHEN FIGHTING A DRAGON THAT YOU DO NOT BECOME ONE!"

In China, a couple of years ago a dam broke of a hydro-electric power plant. The result: 200.000 dead people. So what is safe abaout hydro-electric power? If you have any questions about nuclear electric power, we can discuss them.

I believe that nuclear power is a great clean source of energy but must be carefully monitored and cared for.  Like so many things that are good there is a chance it can be dangerous.

Matches can destroy an entire forest, mankind can destroy an entire species, guns do not kill people do, coal puts food on the table of people but also destroys those who deal with its' health, offshore drilling rigs if they are not kept up to snuff can do horrific damage to so many ecosystems etc etc etc.

Bottom line if we continue to relinquish things we believe to be dangerous what eventually will we become?

Back to the start?  Or to our finish?

No, nuclear power isn't safe. There are many shills working in the nuclear power industry who will tell you that it is though. Would they care to have their kids exposed to the same levels of contamination that the people of Fukushima, or even Tokyo, are being exposed to? Not likely.

Thousands of people die every year in home gas explosions.  Hundreds have died in coal mines and thousands from breathing the air from coal.  Solar is a short term joke.  So far it is the safest. New plants are better.  Don't build them on geo faults.

like any other source of energy better more efficent ways in advancement are developed on a timely basics, but with americas older and more dangerous nuclear plants we have not come up with a way to shut them down and safley dispose of the toxic water waste besides store them in unscure open pools wich are subject to all types of possible leaks, sabbotage, and many other types of danger to society.lets stop and get it right before it,s to late..................
