Nikon D3100 or Nikon D3200

I've come to understand that megapixel count doesn't matter unless your blowing up the picture. I still have not decided between the D3100 or D3200. I've read that the D3200 doesn't perform well in low light. Will a speedlight help the camera perform better in low light? I've read that the D3200 does take better pictures than the D3100. I like the idea of the wireless adapter for the d3200 but only if it will work with my iPad. OR will the SD card fit into my iPad camera kit and I just upload the photos from there? My boyfriend is putting $400 towards the D3100 if that's what I choose and I'm paying the extra $100. OR if I go with the D3200 we are splitting the cost 50/50. When I told my cousin this she said " Do you want a free camera (the one I'm putting $100 towards or do you want something that you have to pay for that will last? She doesn't have any knowledge of cameras and thinks the more megapixels the better. UGH!!!! I don't know what to do!!!!!

well, it seems you have lots of concerns about which is which. You might wanna clarify first what you really want your camera to do for you or what pictures/output you'd like it to capture.
