Is the existence of an afterlife insane to even think about when we've never witnessed anything that wasn't explainable through relentlessly brutal chemical and biological limitations? Entropy is all ...
No scientific evidence for afterlife but not an insane idea.
There is more than abundant proof of the afterlife. Anyone with an open mind will understand it easily. Atheists' minds are closed down so that no rational thought can enter. How can you succeed with such a closed and bitter mind?
To succeed requires faith. Without that, no investor will invest, no banker will loan, and no contract can make anyone a decent profit.
Faith has its place in all reasonable persons. It does not exist in persons so limited that they can no longer reason.
Belief in afterlife or godlike beings need not mean you have to believe everything that your church tells you is true.
Many atheists may be OK with concepts similar to gods as long as the religion is taken out.
If there is a God, or gods, they may have no interest in burning sinners in Hell, or welcoming us through "pearly gates".
Faith has its value but some sheep prefer to take their changes being eaten by wolves rather than being fleeced by a shepherd.
Gromwold-Physicalist (or whatever else you go by this session) with your anger and bitterness, anywhere you end up will be hell.
That is because you are so negative that no one will associate with you willingly. Your fierce allegiance to atheism is a sham, your bitterness against God is proof that you are neurotic, and your hatred of all who get along is only proof that whatever you got in the form of "education" only holds you back from happiness.
What would it cost you to open your mind, mend your ways, and see what rational people do? You may find that we who know God are in no way the sort of bigots your atheist religion told you we are, and you will find that Islam drove you even further from the truth.
Hate never helped anyone and atheism is nothing but hate. What you hate, you fear. Only faith can make you fearless. Until you come to grips with the facts of life you cannot prosper at all.
Hi Fletcher
I would be tempted to believe you are Rockmike, if I were the type to jump to conclusions.
I must admit I do respect Physicalist, and agree with him on many of his beliefs and doubt about religious beliefs.
I actually do believe there may be something like God, and have tried to convince Physicalist that the world may not be as mechanical as his theory suggests, and may be something like a dream of God.
I believe that (something or someone like) God may play a role in my life and is a real person far wiser and powerful than myself, and I have had prayers answered in ways that suggests to me that there may be something magical in the world.
I merely doubt whether church has a monopoly of God.
I am unsure what you were refering too about Moslims.
My religious background is Christian and I helped run a Religious Education program in my younger days.
These days my calling is to understand God or Nature via science.
I have some faith in spiritual things and much of my scientific research relates to areas usually only of interest to religion rather than science.
I have however some concerns about some beliefs of established religions and do not like churches scaring people with threats of Hell to get them to donate to the Church and tow the religious line.
I believe God speaks to everyone from their understanding. If religious faith works for you that is good for you.
For me God speaks through science and miracle cats.
Lately I have been following my calling more vigorously and have been blessed with new friends and opportunities.
I am sorry if my doubts of religious dogma offends you, but I do not believe I will go to Hell for questioning what the church says.
It has been some time since I have communicated with Physicalist.
I wish him all the best, as I do for everyone.
I agree with you that what you hate you fear and what you fear you hate.
I can not see why we can not have faith that people like myself and Physicalist who do not believe in religion might not be able to be your friend. If some sort of God exists as I suspect, surely he or she can look after both believers and disbelievers.
Remember in the Bible God loved those who honesly questioned him more than those that gave lip service.
The Bible says David was no saint, but was honest with God. Other doubters in the Bible who had the courage to challenge God supposedly wound up much closer to him than those who just accepted.
Believers are not all bad and non-believers are not all bad.
We are all people with our own fears and loves. If the Bible is true God wants us to know and love him. I trust that if such a God exists he would perhaps be happy to love anyone whatever theor beliefs. By God's standards all our beliefs or understanding would be childish. By his standards all our imperfections might be equally petty.
Have a little more faith in yourself.
Take your own advice and be not afraid that looking too deeply at the truth wil disprove God.
If Physicalist is taking a different road to enlighten ment, trust that God will bring the truth too him.
If the truth turns out to not be exactly as your religion says should this stop God from being real?
Love your enemies, and your friends.
Allow Love to rule your heart.
There is no need to fear Science, or Yoga or non-christian philosophies. Trust that you will be guided to the truth , whatever it may be, if you keep your mind open.
The only thing atheists do better than drive drunk is to build death camps all over Asia and Europe. Atheism is only a cult of murderers. Their racist propaganda proves that all atheists are exactly that violent and must all remain that for all eternity.
That is because there is nothing meaner than a rattlesnake or an atheist.
Hi Norman
As I said, I suspect that something like God does exist but have my doubts about whether folowing church rituals impresses gods or God.
I suspect an atheist with a good heart is just as right with God as a church goer who is equally imperfect.
A priest tried to molest one of my best friends when he was a chior boy. I imagine God would be forgiving of him later being a little dubious of what a preacher might say.
If his faith was rocked by this incident and he died before he got his faith back, do you think God would punish him for a consequence of the priests sin?
Gromwald, tell your alter ego Physicalist that we are all onto your games. That is why the whole world knows that atheists are only class clowns, slated for expulsion.
You might seethe with blind hate but that only proves that all atheists are like badly programmed robots that need to be scrapped before they make any more weak welds on the assembly line.
