China has horrible living conditions, even in Beijing where you need a gas mask to walk in the street with all the smog from pollution. How can the U.S., which is so much more advanced owe China $13 trillion and if they ever called in their debt they would own us. I understand the Made In China debacle and that the U.S. has lost it's entire manufacturing base to them. But how can the U.S. with a $13.3 trillion GDP literally be at the mercy of China, which is still nothing more than a glorified third world cesspool in which a two year was hit by a car and left to die on a crowded street.

Steve,
I hope you are an open person and thus being able to read different opinions. True. the USA is by far more advanced than China. But that gap is being closed rapidly. Sooner than you think China will lead (become no. 1). Being more advanced does NOT mean that the advanved country is more efficient and more profitable. The truth is that the people in China are very smart, very hard working, very devoted to work, and are very modest. All together makes the competion with the States a play of giants vs tiny flies..... Even now China is not a third world country. You shed lights on the dark parts ..... for some reason you ignore the tremendeouse achievements (how about a gtrain from Beging to ShangHai that goes in some 250 k"m per hour and covers that distance in some 3.5 hours. 5 years ago the streets were loaded with bicycles. Not any more..... one can hardly see bicycles. Just 2 simple examples. Please be more balanced. You are giving a wrong or biased picture. The USA can learn many good things from China.
