New computer seems slow

my old computer was a dual-core, running mcaffe and vista.

my new computer is a quad-core, running norton's and windows 7.

the new computer runs on the internet waaay slower than the old one.  could this be a security issue?  i have heard that norton's slows down some programs.  or could it be my settings? 

any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated!  thank you!

What is the RAM that you have.. as Windows 7 requirement for RAM is a bit higher.. try having 2GB+ of RAM

Check for the RAM installed on your computer. Also free up some memory space. Run a disk cleanup program.

Speed up your slow running new computer by:

-- cleaning system junk
-- optimizing computer services
-- optimizing internet
-- repairing registry
-- defraging registry
-- clearing browsers junk

do these things with some secure tool such as Intel Software Partner Reginout.

Try to check your installed applications often and uninstall the ones that you don’t need. To do this go to Control Panel, click on “Programs and Features” (Vista) or “Add/Remove Programs” (XP). Review the list and uninstall the ones that you don’t recognize or simply don’t need. If these won't solve the problem, try contacting remote computer repairs service and I'm sure they will be very happy to help you.
