Back to question Answer 1 of 1

You are missing the point.  It doesn't matter whether she deserves it or not.  The money is being given as a GIFT.  When people want to give a gift it is out of the generousity of their heart.  She does not have to deserve it or earn it or anything like that.

And secondly, being the classy lady she is, she will probably give a lot of it to charity , so don't worry about it. It will go to good causes.

I understand your sincerity as I feel generally the same way, however I do not understand why the GIFT is a large sum of U.S. Currency rather than a phone call, or a card perhaps.

Although I too believe she is very much a classy Lady, we know nothing of her past in regard to the frequency to which she donates large amounts of money to Charities.

On the other hand your advice to simply not 'worry about it' is a bit irrational. I'm doing the math on how many American Children I could feed, cloth, and educate for $500,000.00+.

Thank you for your Answer

I am from Rochester NY so perhaps I have heard more than you have. As a part time bus moniter she earns about $15,000 per year.  So I would not expect that she gives out large amounts.  However, she has generousity in her heart. She could have reported those kids at any time. She had compassion on them since it was the end of the school year. She decided to not report them and stick it out til the end of the year.  After all this went public she decided to not press charges. this also shows the compassion and mercy in her heart.  I do trust her judgement.   For me to say "don't worry"  about something over which we have no control is indeed rational.  It is irrational to worry about stuff that you have no control over.  Why worry about it?  Where does it get you?  You can do all the math in your head about what you would do,  but the fact remains that the money is in her name, not yours.

Linda, you seem to think you have the definitive answer here but let's not forget that what you are offering is nothing more than your opinion, which is exactly what I wanted, but none the less it's still a mere opinion.

Yes, I'm fully aware of every miniscule aspect of the situation just as most of the World is. I'm curious... do you not worry about Global Warming?, because you yourself have no immediate control over it in that you cannot change it alone with a snap of your fingers. I am very concerned and worried about countless potentially harmful aspects of life and remain in a prepared / conscious state of mind. It is the epitome of illogical to disregard or 'not worry' about things which you cannot control and IMO just plain lackadaisical. Being out of reach physically so to speak does not mean ignore, it means find a different path. I for one am very worried about Global Warming.

Or perhaps we carry different definitions of the term 'worry'. If you are painting a picture for yourself of a distraught Man frantically slam typing his keyboard while creating the question above because he is in tears over Karen Klein receiving X amount of money, you are mistaken.

Yes, I'm aware the money is in her name not mine. Strange remark but thanks.. I think? I see by your profile you are a Grandmother yourself which may be hindering your ability to give a non-biased answer in regard to this particular situation. Your undertones are obvious.

I thank you for your concern but it looks as though you are worried about it much more than I. It's just a simple question, that's all.

I made a donation myself before I posted this question. FYI
