No the knife is not placed on the knife rest, it's placed on the right above the utensils for use after it's been used.

I disagree with your place settings.

Although soup spoons can have oval or round bowls, they are always positioned to the right of the knives. By the way, the 'crab fork' is placed inside the bowl of the soup spoon, not as you suggest. I hope this helps.
