What is the name of the religion where married ...

What is the name of the religion where married people are not allowed to have any children?  I believe it started in the northeast United States.

ATLANTA, July 4 - The United Church of Christ became the first mainline Christian denomination to support same-sex marriage officially when its general synod passed a resolution on Monday affirming "equal marriage rights for couples regardless of gender."

A clash of ideas is not a catastrophe, it is an opportunity. Only its constructive conclusions should be allowed to leave the academic framework.

Maybe you are thinking of the SHAKERS ?  An offshoot of the Quakers -  they could marry, but believed in celibacy.   They are, for obvious reasons, damn near extinct today.

THAT WHICH DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER. Bull. Reality is, it will usually hurt like hell and leave you with a permanent limp.

Not allowed to have children? That's a new one to me. Just when I thought religion couldn't possibly make people behave any nuttier.

How could they possibly believe that denial of the biological imperative would be pleasing to a deity? This might actually bear some further research.

So I suppose the only way they have to expand membership is to convert new members. Not much incentive there, though.

The Shakers behave in this manner.

That would be a false religion though.  God said, "Be fruitful and multiply".  There's a reason He made us man and woman.
