It depends on the type and style of temple. However, "temple" is a perfictly appropreat name for all.

A "stupa" is a carimonial mound that acts as a reliquary

A "pagoda" is a place of worship

A "wat" is a religious school

A "Luange" is a meeting house

And there are many others
