Nail Polish

I put on bright red nail polish without putting on an undercoat of clear (I know, not to bright) and now my nails are yellow.  Is there anyway to get them white again? I have tried vinegar, hot soapy water, and nail polish remover, and they are still yellow.  Any ideas?
