Discuss PGroot's answer to: Why is the moon red tonight august 6 2012?

The moon can appear red at full moon if there is an eclipse, but there wasn't one on August 6.  The other possible cause is dust or smoke.  Oklahoma has a big fire so that smoke could make the moon appear red.  There was also a refinery fire in Richmond CA.
